Now Hiring: Studio Assistant
The time has come for me to add another amazing human to my team! For so long it’s been just Kelly and I, and with our growth and expansion it’s become clear that bringing on another team member will help take this amazing business to the next level. I’m looking for a right-hand to have my back and assist in the day-to-day operations, as well as future plans for my business.
As a Studio Assistant, you’ll wear many hats and be responsible for many different things. Some of the tasks are fun, some tedious, some rewarding, some boring, but all of them are important and essential to carrying out the best experience possible for the women who come through our door.
The ideal candidate is someone who is excited about, and truly believes in the empowerment of ALL women of ALL shapes/sizes/ages/walks of life. You must be trustworthy and reliable, and would be required to sign a non-disclosure and non-compete. Trust and commitment are key, this is not negotiable!
The position will be casual to start with the opportunity to become permanent part time (or full time). If we work well together and you’re slaying the tasks set out for you then I will want you around more! This position is ideal for someone who is looking to supplement their income but has the flexibility/desire to grow into a more involved position. Work would be done mostly in-studio, downtown Vancouver. I would need you 10-20 hours a week to start, between Wednesday-Saturday.
To succeed and feel good about this job, you must be someone who enjoys being a support, and has no problem taking the reins on projects. I need an organized go-getter that takes initiative and doesn’t need to be babysat on their task list.
This is not a photography position, however I will need some basic photography done, like behind the scenes, some basic product photos and other various content for social media. You would be provided some basic training if you are not already comfortable operating a point and shoot camera.
As Studio Assistant, you must have an excellent command of the english language, both written and spoken, and be able to represent my business as a professional. I am a pretty laid back person, but spelling and grammatical errors are not ok!
You also must be comfortable doing research, making phone calls occasionally, and getting your hands dirty with some less-than-glamorous tasks (my closet needs an overhaul). You would also be assisting in the creation of some pretty cool projects as well as some event planning.
I’m looking for someone comfortable with technology, as you would be using different computer programs, and various social media platforms. If you’re not experienced in these things, I would require you to be a quick learner. Preference will be given to those with knowledge of the following programs: Apple/Mac products, WordPress, Photoshop (and other Adobe programs), Mailchimp (or other e-newsletter program), Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest
An example of some of the tasks you would be responsible for:
- Studio maintenance/cleaning/set up
- Packaging client orders
- Researching various things and reviewing your findings together
- Create spreadsheets for information tracking purposes
- Various errands (picking up supplies, mailing orders, etc)
- Assisting with marketing, social media, newsletters, etc
- Shoot behind the scenes and other content creation for social media and my website
- Assisting in planning/hosting special events
Apply by sending me an email telling me a little about yourself, your schedule/availability, and your desired pay. Not sure what to tell me? Here are some questions to prompt some ideas:
- What makes you feel good in your own skin?
- To me, the best part of being a woman is…
- Why do you connect to boudoir photography?
- What interests you about this position?
- What are you most proud of?
- What makes you feel successful?
- What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
- Guilty pleasure?
