We were originally supposed to shoot together in the spring of 2020. What a year that was! Boudoir photography in Vancouver was at the height of popularity. Then everything came to a screeching halt in March 2020.
After the 3rd month of lockdown, and so many uncertainties of whether or not personal services in BC would be permitted consistently for the foreseeable future, I decided I needed a break. It crushed me to have to cancel all my bookings and close my boudoir photography studio. As I refunded each of my clients, I sincerely hoped that someday in the future we could still work together. This was a very difficult and heartbreaking decision.
I now realize that taking time off was the best thing I could have done for my art! I’ve come back stronger, more confident and extremely proud of the images I’m creating now. Being back in my studio space has filled me with a renewed passion for boudoir photography and I am very excited about this next chapter in my life.
Many of the clients I’ve been working with in the past year have told me they’ve experienced some kind of change within themselves. Miss I is no exception, and I think it was a blessing in disguise that her boudoir session happened in 2022 instead 🖤
Here’s what she had to say about her experience in a Google review:
“Jennifer and Kelly are two very talented women and a perfect team. I love their work. I was trying to book a photo shoot with Jennifer two years ago but Jennifer decided to stop doing shoots (thank goodness just for awhile) I tried to look for other photographers in the area but I wasn’t able to find someone that I love as much as how I love Jennifer’s work. Two years later, here I am! It’s worth the wait!
I’m never good at posing and I didn’t know what to expect before I went for the shoots. Jennifer told me what to do tho some poses feel awkward (LOL). Jennifer assured that I look amazing. It was a very fun day and I think everyone deserve to look and feel fabulous. Jennifer and Kelly made that happen for me. Funny question of the day: “do you ask people who sign up for the photo shoots to go to the gym? Simply because they all look super gorgeous!” Of course the answer is no (LOL) it’s simply how Jennifer sees how beautiful all women look, she catches the moment and that’s her work. Book your shoots with them and experience it yourself! This is not just a photo shoot, why I got it done and how Jennifer and Kelly got it done for me mean a lot more to me. Thank you for everything Jennifer and Kelly!”
