The business of empowering women and boudoir photography

Allow me to reintroduce myself.

My name is Jennifer and I've been in the business of empowering women for literally half of my life.

For the last 15 years I’ve been a boudoir photographer, and before I started photography I owned a swimwear boutique with my mom.

Boudoir photography and the business of empowering women

Something not many people know about me is how much I hate being in front of the camera. Ironic, right? I struggle with self confidence just as much as anybody else. I excel at empowering and uplifting others, but when it comes to empowering myself, it just feels..hard. I’m not telling you this simply for the reassurance or compliments, rather, this is something everyone experiences at some point in their life.

At the beginning of this year I made a commitment to myself to move past my insecurities, stop hiding, and start showing up in my business. I haven’t let anyone take my photo in years, and the profile photos I took of myself didn't really represent who I wanted to embody - a strong and fearless woman.

A few months ago I asked my dear friend Kate Whyte if she would take some updated photos of me. It was time to show up for myself and remember who the fuck I was. During the shoot I sat through my discomfort (when I really wanted to run away and hide lol) and I am so grateful to Kate, my makeup artist Ksenia and my studio manager Maddi for holding space for me at my most vulnerable. Thank you for being my cheerleaders as I put a stop to the bullshit self-sabotage that had been preventing me from showing up for myself.

So, here's me, walking the walk.

If you’re ready to let go of your own bullshit I would love to invite you to my studio to get (re)acquainted with who the fuck you are. The experience I provide is so much more than just a photoshoot and some pretty pictures. It’s a path to reconnecting to your femininity, strength, sensuality and sexuality.
